Lei Yang (Biography)
Dr. Lei Yang obtained his PhD in Chemistry at Uppsala University, Sweden in 2014, focusing on the development of novel photovoltaic materials and their applications in hybrid and organic solar cells. During 2015-2017, he worked as a researcher in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Monash University in Australia. From 2017 to the present, he has been working as an associate professor in the School of Environmental and Municipal Engineering, Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology. He was honored as the Yanta Youth Scholar and listed in the Hundred Talent Program of Shaanxi Provence. His main research interests include nano-materials for photo-catalysis, advanced oxidation for wastewater treatment and development of environment-friendly materials. He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed papers in SCI journals, such as J. Am. Chem. Soc., Appl. Catal. B-Environ., J. Phys. Chem. Lett., Water Res., etc., with H-index of 12 and total citation exceeding 1400.

Roberto Pizzoferrato (Biography)
Dr. Pizzoferrato is a professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at University of Rome Tor Vergata, Rome, Italy. To date he has published over 120 peer-reviewed articles and conference proceedings. He is a member of the Advisory Board of Sensors journal. Dr. Pizzoferrato’s areas of interest are optical properties of nanomaterials, sensing of heavy metals and layered Double Hydroxides (LDHs).

My research interests lie in the area of energy-efficient and safe vehicles (EESVs) including: lightweight materials and structures, advanced composite materials, graphene related materials, multi-functional materials, modelling and design, energy conversion and storage systems and impact and crashworthiness analysis. My work outcomes are recognised both nationally and internationally as evident from over 90 plenary lectures, invited talks, keynotes and presentations; over 150 peer-reviewed research papers and patents. Most recently, I have published the book: A. Elmarakbi (2013) “Advanced Composite Materials for Automotive Applications: Structural Integrity and Crashworthinessâ€Â, Wiley, UK.

Gianaurelio Cuniberti (Biography)
Prof. Gianaurelio Cuniberti holds since 2007 the Chair of Materials Science and Nanotechnology at the Dresden University of Technology. He leads the Nanobiomaterials Department of the Max Bergmann Center of Biomaterials Dresden and is the founding director of the Dresden Center for Computational Materials Science (DCCMS). He studied Physics at the University of Genoa and at the University of Hamburg and was visiting scientist at MIT and the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems Dresden. From 2003 to 2007 he was at the head of a Volkswagen Foundation Junior Research Group at the University of Regensburg. Prof. Cuniberti has made lasting contributions to a wide range of areas from quantum dots, nanowires and nanotubes to biosystems, addressing transport phenomena, structural stability with important contributions to the theory and modeling of the electronic and structural properties of bottom up nanoscale materials. His activity addresses four main lines: (i) molecular and organic electronics, (ii) bionanotechnology, (iii) nanostructures, (iv) methods development. His research activity is internationally recognized in more than 200 scientific papers to date. He initiated and organized numerous workshops, and school-conferences and took part in international research training networks, offering extensive opportunities for young scientists. He has given plenary and invited talks at numerous international meetings. He received several talent scholarships and in 2001 the Max Planck Society Schloessmann award fellowship. He is distinguished visiting Distinguished Professor at the Division of IT Convergence Engineering of POSTECH, the Pohang University of Science and Technology and Adjunct Professor for the Department of Chemistry at the University of Alabama.

Francisco Chinesta is currently Professor of computational physics at ENSAM ParisTech (Paris, France). He was (2008-2012) AIRBUS Group chair professor and since 2013 he is ESI Group chair professor on advanced modeling and simulation of materials, structures, processes and systems. He is fellow of the “Institut Universitaire de Franceâ€Â, Fellow of the Spanish Royal Academy of Engineering. He received many scientific awards in four different fields: bio-engineering, material forming processes, rheology and computational mechanics. He is author of 250 papers in peer-reviewed international journals. He is president of the French association of computational mechanics (CSMA) and director of the CNRS research group (GdR) on model order reduction techniques for engineering sciences. He is editor and associate editor of many journals.

Dr. Marianella Hernández Santana received her BSc degree in Materials Engineering from Universidad Simón BolÃÂvar (Caracas,Venezuela) and then obtained a MSc in Macromolecular Physical-Chemistry from the Ecole d´Applications des Hauts Polymères/Université Louis Pasteur (Strasbourg, France). Her professional career started working as a Researcher at INTEVEP, the top level Institute of Research and Technology of the state-run oil company Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. (Caracas, Venezuela). Then she held the position of Associate Professor in Materials Engineering at Simón BolÃÂvar University (Caracas, Venezuela). In 2008 she joined the Nanocomposites Group at the Institute of Polymer Science and Technology, ICTP-CSIC (Madrid, Spain) and got her PhD in Chemical Sciences from the Complutense University (Madrid, Spain). In 2014 she was awarded with a Marie Curie Fellowship and joined the group lead by Prof. Sybrand van der Zwaag at Delft University of Technology (the Netherlands) working in self-healing elastomers. In 2017 she returned to Spain and she is currently a Senior Contracted Researcher at the ICTP-CSIC.

Abbas Amini(Biography)
Dr. Abbas Amini is an assistant professor at the Australian College of ACK and Western Sydney University and the member of the graduate supervisory board. After obtaining Ph.D., he conducted research with other Australian universities, as a postdoctoral research fellow at Monash and Deakin Universities, and as a senior research fellow at the University of Melbourne. His fine outcomes have been presented in high impact factor journals, e.g., Nature publication group, and a recently published book in 2016. Abbas is the editor of more than 10 reputed journals and the committee member of more than 100 international conferences.

Rami Ahmad El-Nabulsi holds a PhD in Particle Physics, Mathematical Physics and Modeling from Provence University, France and a diploma of advanced studies in Plasma Physics and Radiation Astrophysics from the same institution. He worked with different worldwide research departments in UK, South Korea, China, Greece and he is actually affiliated to ATINER-Athens, Mathematics and Physics Departments. He is the author of more than 190 peer-reviewed papers in peer-refereed journals and a reviewer for more than 65 scientific journals where he has reviewed more than 750 manuscripts till the present moment.
